Compliance

The Compliance Division of HDB, as part of the continued commitment of the Bank to effective corporate governance, follows the applicable legal and regulatory framework and a code of business ethics that all employees and business partners throughout its operations are expected to adhere to.

The Compliance division has a direct reporting line to the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors, thus enhancing the importance and the independence of the function and provides oversight and coordination in relation to the responsibilities of Hellenic Development Bank for compliance with the applicable regulatory framework, as well as the adopted internal policies.

 The main responsibilities of the Compliance Division are:

  • To notify on the new laws and regulations and to advise management on their potential impact.
  • To monitor the regulatory framework and assess the risk on non-compliance with it.
  • To ensure that the Bank complies with the requirements of the regulatory framework.
  • To set the Internal Code of Conduct and Ethics.
  • To safeguard the Bank’s reputation by monitoring that its business activities are carried out in compliance with the applicable laws and the operating principles that govern the activities of the Bank.
  • To ensure the accuracy and correctness of financial and personal data on its financial reports.
