Harnessing Innovation and Sustainable Growth: HDB Strengthens Ties with Innovation Norway 

The Hellenic Development Bank (HDB) recently hosted a productive meeting with executives from Innovation Norway, the Norwegian Development Bank.
Led by HDB Chairman and CEO George Zavvos the meeting explored avenues to enhance the already strong partnership between the two institutions.

In attendance were Innovation Norway’s Division Director for “Tourism and Special Assignments” Elisabeth Svanholm Meyer, accompanied by Thomas Egger Sørensen, Anne Lise Rognlidalen, Anne-Sophie Therese Mikhos, and Harry Adraktas-Rentis.

Innovation Norway, established in 1851, has evolved into a prominent development institution dedicated to fostering innovation and driving Norwegian business growth.

The organization’s expertise aligns closely with HDB’s commitment to supporting Greek enterprises in their pursuit of innovation and sustainable development.

During the meeting, both sides identified key areas for expanded collaboration, including:

  •  Innovation and knowledge transfer: Joint initiatives to promote knowledge sharing and collaboration between Greek and Norwegian innovators.

  • Matchmaking events: Facilitating connections between companies from both countries, enabling partnerships and potential investments.

  • Digitization of the aquaculture sector: Supporting the adoption of cutting-edge technologies to enhance the efficiency and sustainability of aquaculture practices.
     
  • Energy transformation of coastal maritime transport: Exploring opportunities to promote the adoption of eco-friendly solutions for coastal shipping.

    HDB is firmly committed to maintaining close dialogue and collaboration with Innovation Norway, recognizing the immense potential for mutual growth and advancement in these areas.

    By leveraging their respective strengths, the two institutions can play a pivotal role in driving innovation, unlocking sustainable development opportunities, and enhancing economic cooperation between Greece and Norway.
